Van Camp’s Quality Hardwood Floors attended a fund raiser for the Colorado Preservation Society at the Boettcher Mansion, the Governor’s Residence.  This mansion was designed and built for the Cheesemen family in 1908, and later purchased by the Boettcher family.  This mansion was deeded to the state in 1959.  This historical structure is a beautiful site and definitely worth taking a tour of.

Refinishing Hardwood Floors in Winter

Often we are asked, “Is it okay to refinish our wood floors in cold weather months?”  The short answer is an emphatic, “Yes!”  As long as the home is heated, (and who’s isn’t?) winter is an excellent time for finishing or refinish.  With the thermostat set at 70 degrees, stains and urethanes will dry and cure beautifully.

Van Camp’s Quality Floors Volunteers to Restore Antique Floors at the Historic St. John’s Cathedral

Van Camp’s Quality Floors, has volunteered its services to restore 4,000 square feet of original wood floors at Denver’s historic St. John’s Cathedral.

Built in 1909, St. John’s is sensitive to many historic architectural features of the Nave, noted as one of the most beautiful rooms in Colorado.  Van Camp’s Quality Floors has committed to restore the Cathedral’s aging floors.  Real wood flooring is the only option available that can be renewed time and time again.  Restoring antique wood floors to their original beauty is more valuable than laying a brand new floor.  The patina and quality of older growth wood cannot be matched or duplicated.

We are honored to have the opportunity to give back to our Denver community by contributing to almost a century of continuous beauty and history at St. John’s” says owner of Van Camp’s Quality Floors, John Van Camp. “This is an important project for us; this is saving a piece of the past to ensure it remains in our future.”
